Mycology Technician

Job brief

Primary Responsibilities

This position requires the following requirements for employment at Stallergenes Greer and includes but not limited to:

• Performs defatting/phenol treatment of fungal materials.

• Operation of Autoclaves for sanitizing manufacturing components.

• Ball mill and weighing/sampling of raw material.

• General lab duties such as:

o Perform pH and basic calculations
o Washing of laboratory glassware
o General post-production cleaning

  • Regularly lift/move up to 15lbs and occasionally 50lbs with assistance
  • Stand for long periods and occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Work with viable fungal organisms
  • Work in a group environment often in pairs or teams.

 

Computer Skill(s):

• Ability to use PC to read/print documents
• Microsoft Word and Excel
