Head of IT Security & Infrastructure

Position Summary

The Head of IT Security & Infrastructure is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing the organization’s information security strategy while overseeing the IT infrastructure team. This role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise systems and data, while also managing the design, implementation, and support of core IT infrastructure including networks, servers, and telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities

Security Leadership

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, policies, and procedures.
• Lead incident response planning and execution, including post-incident analysis and remediation.
• Conduct regular audits of security controls and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
• Oversee risk management initiatives, including threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and mitigation planning.
• Drive security awareness training and ensure organization-wide compliance with security protocols.

Infrastructure Management

• Lead the infrastructure team responsible for network, server, storage, and cloud operations.
• Develop and maintain IT infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business goals.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of IT systems.
• Oversee vendor relationships and procurement of infrastructure and security technologies.

Governance & Compliance

• Collaborate with internal audit, legal, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR CFR-11).
• Maintain and enforce access control policies, including identity and access management (IAM), VPN, 2FA, and endpoint security.
• Manage the organization’s Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans in coordination with crisis response teams.

Team Leadership

• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of security and infrastructure professionals.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with application, data, and business teams.
